Youth tournaments are built around a guarantee: every team is promised a set number of games, because families have driven there and the point is for children to play. That rules out a straight knockout and makes group play the standard, usually two groups of four playing a round robin, then a knockout between the top finishers.
Draw the group stage here first. Four teams is six matches over three rounds, so two groups on two pitches run in parallel and finish together, and then you enter the qualifiers as a fresh four or eight team bracket.

Round robin group play, then a separate knockout for the qualifiers. It guarantees every team at least three games, which is what a youth tournament is judged on.
Small-sided youth matches are typically two halves of fifteen to twenty five minutes. Forty minutes a slot including turnaround is a safe planning number.
This table ranks on points only, three for a win and one for a draw. Youth tournaments usually break ties on goal difference, so record scores on the printed sheet and apply your own tiebreak.
Rounds run in parallel across pitches, so two pitches run two groups of four side by side and the whole group stage is three slots.
Print the schedule for the touchline and share the link with team managers, so parents can see the next kick-off without finding you.

Rounds run one after another, because a round cannot start until the one feeding it has finished. Matches inside a round can all run at once, so the number of pitches you have decides the day more than the number of entrants does.
